Easy Withdrawal
Easy Withdrawal
I had been taking EffXR for over a year, 150mg/day.
I did a Master Cleanser program (book by Stanley Burroughs), sometimes called the lemonade diet. Basically a week to 10 days of drinking fresh lemon juice, grade B maple syrup with cayenne pepper, and taking laxative tea at night.
After 4-5 days, I ran out of my prescription for Effexor and just quit. I have NO side effects for over 4 days while on the fast.
After, I had bad brain zaps for 1-2 days, and I was really contemplating going back on Effexor. After reading all the horror stories onilne, I was very scared of withdrawal.
After those first 2 days, my side effects decreased dramatically, and after less than a week, I had forgotten about both the withdrawal as well as the benefits of this drug.
I just feel anything that makes you feel that bad when you quit it can not be worth it, though I did see many positive effects while on it.
I really think the master cleanser helped me if you are looking for a way to withdraw. I also read that fasting increases your serontonin output, so this is a possible mechanism. Just my two cents.
