Effexor Post Partum Depression
Effexor Post Partum Depression
In August, my doctor put me on Effexor 75 mg for post-partum depression.
At the time she told me that if I stoped taking the drug that I may experience some mild nausea. "Mild", what an understatement. Two week ago I decided to stop taking them. I began vomiting two days after discontinuing. It became so bad that I really thought that I was going to die. I couldn't catch my breath and began to choke on my vomit. My husband convinced me to take a pill and within about an hour it was as if nothing had happened.
I'm now, with my doctors help, weaning my self off the medication. It's been three days since I have taken a pill and so far my only symptoms is a little dizziness and a mild headache.
I have made a promise to myself that I will never take a medication like this again. If my depression ever returns, I'll seek out other atlernatives to help me cope with it.
