Effexor Withdrawal
Effexor Withdrawal
I am so happy that I found this site, it's a relief to know that I am not alone in my suffering from this aweful drug.
When I had problems with high blood pressure, sluggish digestion, and unexplained weight gain I decided to ween myself off of Effexxor after doing some reasearch and found out that all of these are side effects.
I requested that my doctor take me off of Effexxor. I have been tapering down my dose over the past 5 weeks. I was on 150mg, cut back to 75mg for two weeks and then cut back to 37.5mg for two weeks and then 37.5mg every other day for 1 week.
I only started to feel the symptoms after going to 37.5mg.
In addition to brain zaps I can't think clearly, I'm confused, dizzy, can't get enough sleep, broke out in hives 2 days ago, my skin constantly itches,
I can't bring myself to eat because my stomach feels bloated and am not motivated to do anything.
As the week goes on my symptoms keep getting worse. I had a melt down today in public and couldn't stop crying just because I gained 1/2 pound. This is not like me! I can't take much more of feeling this way, hopefully in a day or two I will start to feel better.
