The Three Best Ways To Make Money From The Internet
Recently I heard from a man who had overcome
a severe bout of depression. I mean REALLY
severe. Suicide attempts and all that.
Well, the good news is that he completely
recovered. Having been given his life back -
he’s now on a crusade to help others who are
still suffering.
He contacted me because he did know a little bit
about my story (and my subsequent success on
the internet) and he wanted to find out how I did
it. How I managed to set up a web site and make
money from it.
What follows is the (slightly altered) letter I sent with the
best advice I could give him - or anyone else,
for that matter - on how to make money from the
internet.
“Internet Cash” - as I call it.
Dear S_____
Yes, I do remember you quite well! In fact, you
sounded more depressed than anyone I’ve ever
spoken to on the phone. Talking to you gave
me chills - quite literally!
I’m very glad to hear you’re doing so well now.
When we spoke last May, I could feel your
depression so strongly it actually scared ME.
I can only imagine how you must have felt.
Thank goodness it all worked out.
So, now you’re ready to save the world, huh?
And all you need to do is figure out how to
get traffic to your website? Maybe I can help.
A few years ago I was in your shoes. ‘A Man
With a Mission’ - as they say. Full of
enthusiasm, but short on workable knowledge.
I started by putting up a self-help website that I
just *knew* was going to change the world. But
after six months I’d logged only twenty visitors.
Quite frankly, about 15 of them were friends and
relatives. I think they were curious to see what all
the fuss was about. (Me and my big mouth - I told
everybody about my big plans!)
After a few more bewildering months, I finally
had to admit defeat. Boy did that hurt. I just had
no idea how to get people to visit my site.
Things were getting desperate. My friends had
finally quit teasing me about the internet and my
‘get rich scheme’ (as it came to be known). But
it was eating me alive.
Soon I’d have to either renew my domain name
or else take the web site down. Plus I was paying
$19.95 per month in hosting fees. Every month I
paid, it hurt a little more than the month before.
At eleven months, I’d had enough. I took down
the website. Actually, I just quit paying and then
my web host put it out of its misery. Sort of a
mercy killing, I suppose… like a wounded soldier
on some lost and desolate cyber-battlefield.
(In case you’re curious, that first web site was
on personal value, and you can read it all at
http://www.join-the-fun.com/value)
I cursed the internet for a while longer, but
eventually - like a moth to a flame - I knew I
had to go back. Even though I’d probably get
burned again, I had to try. I just couldn’t stay
away.
Anyway, to make a long story short….
After two years of almost non-stop searching
I DID find out how to get traffic to my web site.
Boatloads of traffic. More traffic than I ever
thought possible. And if I can do it, I know you
can too.
After hundreds of hours searching the internet for
some real answers, here’s the three best ways I
know of to make money on the internet:
1. Joint Ventures
In terms of sheer profit, this may be the single
best way to make a lot of money on the internet.
I know one guy who made a little over TEN
THOUSAND DOLLARS in one day by doing
just one joint venture.
(Or so he said. I didn’t actually see the check,
I just know he seemed awfully excited.)
The premise is simple. If you’ve got some sort
of product to sell and a website to sell it - you
find someone who’s already got a lot of traffic
(or a huge mailing list) and the two of you work
together.
They recommend your product to their visitors
(or mailing list) and you split the money from the
sale of the product.
You can hit a ‘home run’ with this idea.
The downside is you must already have the
product *and* a website that convinces people
to open up their wallet and whip out their credit
card. (And that’s not as easy as it sounds!)
The other problem is that even after you find
some suitable joint venture partners, you have
to convince them to work with an ‘unknown’…
(that’s you!).
Cause I can guarantee you, if they’re already
successful, they’re getting bombarded with
offers all the time.
Still, this may be the quickest way to make money.
2. Writing Articles For Other Websites
This method is fairly simple and straightforward.
You write short articles on specific topics and
find other websites and ezines to publish them
for you. Put a link at the end of your article to
entice others to visit your site.
- You build name recognition and credibility by
providing useful information to the visitors of
related websites.
- You help the website owners by giving them
additional content.
- And, you can end up with a lot of people
checking out your own website!
Plus, you can also combine this idea with the
joint venture technique. (Highly recommended.)
The bad news is that you actually have to do
the writing, and it needs to be somewhat useful
and interesting. Since so many people know
about this idea, tons of free articles already
exist on every conceivable topic. Fortunately,
many are pure garbage. I read the article you
sent me and it’s very good. I see a lot of
potential there.
You don’t have to be a literary genius; you
just need to be able to put your thoughts down
coherently. And preferably, it needs to contain
information most people don’t already know!
(Which yours does.)
If you provide useful info, this can be an
excellent way to build a lot of traffic in a
relatively short period of time.

3. Build Your Own Keyword-Focused Website
This concept involves first finding the particular
keywords that internet users type into their
search engine boxes, and then writing web
pages focused on those keywords. Your pages
rank high in the search engines, and you get
lots of free traffic... all by writing a website built
around keywords that people are actually
searching for.
I started this way because I lacked the confidence
to approach anyone with a joint venture offer, and
I didn’t think the article idea would work. (I was
wrong, by the way!)
Find the right keywords, write content optimized
for the search engines (to get high rankings) and
the people will come. THEN figure out how you’ll
make the money.

Believe me, if you have *targeted* traffic you
*will* find a way to make the money. That’s the
easy part. The hard part is just getting the traffic
in the first place. (I understand you’re not doing
this for the money but you still need to be
compensated for your time.)
Many people want to put the cart before the horse
by concentrating only on a particular product they
wish to sell.
A much wiser approach involves first getting the
targeted traffic. To learn the whole story, visit -

Well, there you have it. The three best ways for a
beginner to get traffic to a website and to make
some money from it. For maximum effectiveness,
combine all three!

All the best,
