Paxil can affect many different body parts and systems. If you have not yet started taking paxil, you may wish to reconsider after reading this information.

Listed below are the most frequent side effects as reported by the GSK.

Frequencies range from 1% to 36.3%. These figures are somewhat misleading, since one in five of those test subjects - a full 20% - had to drop out of the drug trials because the paxil side effects were simply too harsh to tolerate.

If these 'quitters' (as the researchers called them) were factored in, the true percentage of people suffering from side effects would increase substantially.

To illustrate what I mean, consider the following example: Recent unbiased studies suggest as many as half the people taking paxil have sexual problems of one kind or another.

Compare this percentage with the 'official' results from GSK testing - which indicated about 10% of the clinical trial patients had sexual problems.

What does this say? In real life - your life - the paxil side effects occur much more frequently than previously reported. In this case, five times more frequently!

This next list is for the minor (less frequent - not less debilitating) side effects of paxil. They also were reported during the many years of testing.

Paxil side effects listed in bold occurred in more than 1% of the patients. The remaining side effects of paxil occurred in less than 1% of the patients who tested paxil back in the 1980's.
