Zoloft Fibromyalgia

Zoloft is sometimes prescribed for fibromyalgia.

Zoloft's FDA approved uses are:

  • Major Depressive Disorder
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Panic Disorder
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder
  • Social Anxiety Disorder

But it also has many off-label uses, such as:

  • Fibromyalgia
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
  • Arthritis
  • Bipolar Disorder (Even though zoloft can make bipolar much worse!)
  • Lupus
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Headaches
  • ADD and ADHD
  • Eating Disorders
  • Irritable Bowel Symptoms (IBS)

Currently, only one medication has FDA approval for fibromyalgia: lyrica.

However, some people with fibromyalgia find that zoloft helps relieve the painful symptoms.

However, the problems with taking zoloft:

  • It sometimes causes severe side effects.
  • It creates suicidal thoughts in about 1% of the patients who begin taking it. (Usually in the first week.)
  • It often causes severe withdrawal symptoms when you choose to discontinue it.
  • You have no way of knowing before hand what the effects of zoloft will be.

Generally, antidepressants such as zoloft should be considered as a last resort for severe cases.

Natural help for fibromyalgia include:

  • Hydrotherapy: which can include either hot or cold water.
  • Exercise: such as stretching and aerobic activities like walking or swimming.
  • Simple relaxation exercises such as deep breathing.
  • Support groups to share your feelings.
  • Herbal therapies such as herbs that act as anti-inflammatories (feverfew, boswellia, meadowsweet and pine bark) and herbs that help to sleep (chamomile and valerian).
  • Massage therapy.

In addition to learning about zoloft as it relates to fibromyalgia, it's also important to understand the underlying causes that would lead someone to need such information in the first place.

I almost feel guilty because my life has become so enjoyable and so easy. Especially since I remember how miserable I used to be.

Basically it comes down to making one slight shift in what you do everyday, and you can watch in amazement as your life slowly begins to start working out in almost every way.

It's such an important change that I've written a complete e-book about it. And I'd like to give you a copy for free. All you have to do is write your first name and primary email address into the space below, and you'll be receiving a link to download the e-book right away.

Free e-book reveals exactly what to do right now, starting today, to feel better.
