Zoloft Side Effects

"It seems to me that a lot of the people complaining about Zoloft were taking insanely high doses...

I am on 50mg daily, and have been for about 8 months. So far, I do not have diarrhea, it has actually EASED my migraines (that I think were due largely to stress), haven't had a panic attack in months, no more obsessive thoughts, and feel 'normal' for the first time since I was a small child (I have suffered from Panic Attack Disorder and Generalized Anxiety since third grade).

You should also know that I work in the fitness industry, and have always been an active individual. I, too, have experienced weight gain that seems to coincide with the time that I've been taking Zoloft.

But guess what else?? It also coincides with the fact that we just finished the Holidays (and I ate like a pig and wasn't outdoors much), as well as the fact that I'm now 31 (and guess what, metabolism slows down with age).

Furthermore, in the past 4-6 weeks, I have been back on a healthier (and portion-controlled) diet and regular exercise regime, and I've lost 5 pounds (which, for me, means going from a size 6 to a size 4).

Not to sound harsh, but I think those of you slamming Zoloft perhaps weren't on the right med for you (it truly is trial and error), you didn't need it to begin with, or you were taking WAY too high of a dose. Don't eat so much fast food. Exercise. Control your portions.

And evaluate whether you truly needed a drug (or THIS drug) to begin with. It's not all bad. And for some of us, it is working just fine.

(Please do realize, I have friends for which it did NOT work - they didn't care about ANYTHING when they took it, so something different worked for them).

(If you are new to Zoloft, evaluate how much you are taking, and WHY you are taking it).
